A Franco-Ontarian and Métis woman from West Nipissing, Mique shares the richness of her Francophone and Anishinaabe culture through her art which she describes as colourful and free. Mique Michelle hopes to raise awareness of the daily realities of visible and invisible minorities. She works with young people to share her know-how so that they may develop their critical thinking through art. She regularly collaborates with schools and encourages Graffiti and urban art; “a medium that brings beauty to the world!” Muralist Mique Michelle has created over sixty murals in Ottawa and has exhibited in galleries, community spaces, etc. Her art has taken her all over the world. Her work can be seen on the façade of the ByTowne Cinema in Ottawa, at the Inspire Festival in Moncton and at the Marché des Arts du Spectacle in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) in 2020.
